Who we are
Marvel Path Lab is a clinical pathology laboratory in India. The Marvel Clients app
(package in.marvelpathlab.clientchat) is a business tool for our registered clients —
collection centres, hospitals, clinics and referring laboratories that send patient samples to us. It is
not intended for the general public; access requires client credentials issued by Marvel Path Lab.
Information the app collects
- Account credentials — your client username and password, verified against our laboratory system to sign you in. A login token is stored on your device so you stay signed in.
- Push notification token — a device token (Google Firebase Cloud Messaging) so we can notify you about chat replies, calls and sample/report status updates.
- Chat messages and attachments — messages, photos and files you send to our support team are stored on our servers so the conversation works.
- Voice calls — the microphone is used only during a support call you place or answer. Calls with our support team may be recorded and transcribed for quality and dispute resolution.
- Camera — used only when you choose to attach a photo in chat.
Patient information shown in the app
The app displays booking, sample-status, referred-by and report information for the patients
your organisation referred to us, retrieved from our laboratory information system.
This data is shown to you as the authorised referring client; the app does not collect it from your
device. Report-sharing links you send (for example via WhatsApp) are unique signed links generated by
our servers for the specific patient report.
How information is used and shared
- Solely to provide the service: sign-in, support chat and calls, sample tracking, report delivery and service notifications.
- We do not sell personal data and do not use it for advertising. The app contains no ads and no third-party analytics.
- Data is processed on Marvel Path Lab servers. The only third-party service used is Google Firebase Cloud Messaging, which handles delivery of push notifications.
Security and retention
All app traffic uses HTTPS/TLS. Laboratory records, chat history and call recordings are retained as
required for medical-record, quality and legal obligations, and are accessible only to authorised
Marvel Path Lab staff and the referring client concerned.
Your choices
- You can log out at any time from the app header; this removes the device's login token.
- You can revoke camera, microphone and notification permissions in Android settings; related features stop working but the rest of the app continues.
- To close a client account or request deletion of chat history or recordings associated with your account, contact us below; we will honour the request except where laboratory records must be retained by law.
